Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using NewGenJobs ("the platform", "we", "us"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. What NewGenJobs does

NewGenJobs is a free job aggregation and application platform for South Africans. It aggregates publicly available job postings (including from the Public Service Commission Circular), provides CV feedback, and — with your explicit consent — sends job applications from your Gmail account to employers on your behalf.

3. Your responsibilities

  • 1.You must be a South African citizen or a person legally entitled to work in South Africa.
  • 2.You are responsible for the accuracy of your CV, cover notes, and all information submitted in applications.
  • 3.You must review every application before it is sent. The "always review before send" setting cannot be disabled.
  • 4.You must not use the platform to submit fraudulent applications or misrepresent your qualifications.
  • 5.You must not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the platform.
  • 6.You must be 18 years or older to use this platform.

4. Gmail integration

When you connect your Gmail account, you grant NewGenJobs permission to send emails from your account (to employers only, as directed by you) and to read sender addresses and subjects of incoming mail (to detect employer replies). You can revoke this permission at any time.

NewGenJobs is not responsible for how employers respond to applications, or for the outcome of any job application made through the platform.

5. CV data

By uploading a CV, you grant NewGenJobs a limited licence to process, store, and use your CV solely for the purpose of providing the platform's services (CV feedback and job applications). This licence ends when you delete your CV or close your account.

6. Job listings accuracy

Job postings are sourced from public government publications and third-party sources. NewGenJobs does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any job listing. Always verify closing dates and requirements on the official employer website before applying.

7. Advertising

NewGenJobs is funded by advertising revenue. Sponsored job listings are clearly labelled. We never disguise sponsored content as organic results. We never use your personal data for ad targeting.

8. Limitation of liability

NewGenJobs provides the platform "as is". We are not liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss arising from your use of the platform, including unsuccessful job applications, missed deadlines, or Gmail integration failures.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may close your account at any time via Account Settings.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
